Hello there!
My name is Hayley Clements, I hail from the Seattle area however I am not a PNW native. I was born in Aurora, Colorado just outside of Denver. When I was five my family moved to Irvine, California where I lived until college. I grew up as Hayley Cobb, so yes, the name of this blog is a slight homage to my maiden name.
Growing up, I swam and played club soccer. I dropped soccer in middle school to focus on swimming, which through a series of convoluted events and details, helped me pay for college. I attended Seattle University (go Redhawks!) and studied Psychology. Although my career after college led me to social work and eventually financial advising, I have an aim of going back to school and becoming a Marriage and Family Counselor.
Towards the end of college, I began attending church (again.). My testimony will be a post at some point in the future but the short version is my life, and all that it was, experienced a 180° shift. It is because of this shift I opted on staying in Seattle after graduation. I began an internship with low income youth via my church and through the process met my best friend, Lucas, who became my husband a few years later.
We have been married for over seven years now and have two wild boys, Hudson (3) and Jack (1) and three cats. I really want a dog but that can wait. We grow lots of potatoes and other vegetables in our garden. I bake and cook and still run and swim (you can’t take the sports out of a girl). We love community. We love Jesus. We believe this world is beautiful and there are good things to harvest, we just have to be willing to sow first.
